The essence and advantages of catalytic combustion equipment

Catalytic combustion is a typical gas-solid catalytic reaction. It uses a catalyst to lower the activation energy of the reaction, allowing it to undergo flameless combustion at a relatively low ignition temperature of 200-300℃. Organic substances are oxidized on the surface of the solid catalyst, producing CO2 and H2O and releasing a large amount of heat. Because of its low oxidation reaction temperature, the formation of high-temperature NOx from N2 in the air is greatly inhibited. Moreover, due to the selective catalytic action of the catalyst, it is possible to limit the oxidation process of nitrogen-containing compounds (RNH) in the fuel, causing most of them to form molecular nitrogen (N2).
Compared with traditional flame combustion, catalytic combustion has significant advantages:
(1) Low ignition temperature, low energy consumption, easy to achieve stable combustion, and even after reaching the ignition temperature, the oxidation reaction can be completed without external heat transfer.
(2) High purification efficiency, low emission levels of pollutants (such as NOx and incomplete combustion products).
(3) Wide range of adaptable oxygen concentrations, low noise, no secondary pollution, gentle combustion, low operating costs, and convenient operation and management.
